Since its inauguration in Herrsching, Germany, in 2007, the ISSS takes place every three years and has already been held in New York, Glasgow and last in Kyoto in 2017.

The 5th International Symposium on Solar Sailing (ISSS) will be held at the FH Aachen University of Applied Sciences in Aachen, Germany, from 30 July to 2 August 2019.

Following the tradition of the previous symposia, ISSS 2019 will focus on recent advances in solar sailing technologies and solar sailing missions. Areas of particular interest include but are not limited to:

Hardware and enabling technologies

Concepts and designs

Dynamics and control

Modeling and testing

Mission applications
and programs

Call for Abstracts

We welcome all submissions that address the topics of the symposium. All abstracts will be evaluated by the Technical Committee for the event.
